Tsurtavi Castle

Tsurtavi Castle, also known as Kolagiri Castle or Queen Darejan's Palace, is a notable fortress located in the village of Kolagiri within the Bolnisi municipality of the Kvemo Kartli region in Georgia. Constructed between 1788 and 1798, this castle was commissioned by Queen Darejan Dadiani, the wife of Erekle II of Georgia, during a period marked by political turbulence and regional conflicts. It served primarily as a place of refuge for local villagers in times of danger, reflecting its strategic and protective role in the late 18th century Georgian landscape.
