Help us correct and improve Castlopedia
Found an error, a missing castle, or have your own photos of a fortress? Tell us — every submission is read by our team.
Found an error? Tell us.
Castlopedia is compiled and edited by a small team, not an army of researchers — so mistakes slip through: a wrong date, a misspelled name, an inaccurate location, a closed ticket office we don't know about yet. If you notice something wrong on a castle page, telling us is the single most useful thing you can do.
We also welcome additions: castles missing from our database and your own photographs of places you have visited. Everything you send is reviewed by our editors before it is published, together with the sources you cite.
Ways to help
Report an error
Wrong date, name, location or condition on a castle page? Send us the correction — ideally with a source we can check.
- • Historical facts and dates
- • Names, spellings and locations
- • Opening hours and ticket prices
- • Broken or outdated links
Add a missing castle
Is a fortress, palace or ruin absent from our database? Send us its name, location and a source describing it.
- • Basic location details
- • What is known about its history
- • Links to heritage registers
- • Current condition, if you visited it
Share your own photos
Photographs you took yourself show what a castle really looks like today. We credit every author on request.
- • Exteriors, interiors and details
- • Photos of restoration work
- • Seasonal or aerial views
- • Only images you own the rights to
How submissions are handled
- • Every submission is read and reviewed by our editorial team
- • Claims are cross-checked against cited sources whenever possible
- • Corrections are applied to existing pages, with sources updated
- • Contributors are credited when requested
- • If we cannot verify a claim, we say so rather than publish it

Credits
If you would like your name credited next to a photo or correction you submitted, just say so — we are happy to add it. You can also ask us not to publish your name; anonymous corrections are equally welcome.
