Treuenstein Castle

Treuenstein Castle, also known locally as Castel Treuenstein, Burg Treuenstein, or the Gescheibter Turm, is a historic fortress located near the village of Gries in the South Tyrol province within the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. Originally constructed in the late 13th century, this castle holds significant medieval heritage despite its current limited remains.

The castle was built around 1280 by Meinhard II, Count of Tyrol, as a fortified residence for his loyal vassal, Friedrich von Treuenstein.
