Throughout the 15th century, Schloss Blatten experienced significant political upheaval. The castle and its lordship were temporarily confiscated due to involvement in the Appenzeller War, reflecting the turbulent regional dynamics of the time. In 1458, ownership passed to Jakob Mangold, a prominent citizen of Konstanz, after purchase from Walter Heinrich and Ulrich von Ramschwag.
