Ryckevelde Castle

Ryckevelde Castle, locally known as Kasteel Ryckevelde, is situated in a spacious park east of the city of Bruges, in the province of West Flanders, within the Flemish region of Belgium. Despite its traditional appearance, this castle is a 20th-century construction built in the style of Flemish Gothic Revival, a movement that sought to revive medieval architectural forms with modern construction techniques and materials.

The castle was commissioned by Baron Raphael Gilles de Pélichy and constructed over a period spanning from 1913 to 1929. This lengthy building phase was interrupted by the First World War, which affected much of Belgium and delayed many architectural projects.
