Kakavaberd

Kakavaberd, also known as Geghi Berd, Keghi Berd, or Kegh, is a historic bastioned fortress perched on a ridge overlooking the Azat River gorge within the Khosrov Forest State Reserve in Ararat Province, Armenia. Situated at an altitude of 1,516 metres (4,974 feet), this fortress commands a strategic vantage point in a rugged natural landscape.

The origins of Kakavaberd date back to the medieval period, with archaeological and historical evidence suggesting its construction during the High to Late Medieval era.
