Hieraniony Castle

Hieraniony Castle, also known as Gieraniony Castle, is a significant historical site located near the village of Hieraniony in the Iwye District of Belarus. Constructed in the early 16th century, this Renaissance castle served as the main residence of Albertas Goštautas, one of the most influential noblemen in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The castle's strategic position and architectural design reflected the power and status of its owner during a period of considerable political and military activity in Eastern Europe.

Historical significance and ownership

The castle was originally built as a fortified noble residence, embodying Renaissance architectural principles adapted for defense and habitation.
