Castrum Segedunum

Castrum Segedunum was a significant Roman fort located at what is now Wallsend in North Tyneside, North East England. This fort occupied a strategic position at the eastern terminus of the famous Hadrian's Wall, near the banks of the River Tyne. Established around 122 AD, shortly after the construction of Hadrian's Wall, Segedunum served as a key military installation for nearly three centuries, until approximately 400 AD.
