The castle gained literary recognition through the writings of Eustache Deschamps (1346–1406), a notable French poet of the time. In one of his ballads, Deschamps praised the castle's location and beauty, highlighting the pleasantness of the site at the edge of the forest of Vincennes. He attributed the castle's name, "Beauty," to the Dauphin of Viennois, the eldest son of King Charles V, reflecting its association with the royal family.
