Al-Kahf Castle, also known as the Castle of the Cave (Qalʻat al-Kahf in Arabic), is a significant medieval fortress constructed by the Nizari Isma'ili community during the 12th century. Situated approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Margat, it occupies a strategic position in the al-Ansariyah mountains of northwest Syria. This hill castle was part of a network of fortifications established by the Nizari Isma'ilis, who were known for their distinctive architectural styles and military ingenuity during the High Medieval period.

The castle's location atop a rugged hill provided natural defenses enhanced by man-made fortifications, a common feature of hill castles of the era. Its construction reflects the military architecture typical of the Nizari Isma'ili fortresses, which emphasized strong walls, watchtowers, and secure access points to withstand sieges and raids.
