The estate later came into the possession of the Guinness family, renowned for their brewing empire, adding to the castle's social prominence.

In recent decades, the castle was acquired by the Primwest Group before being sold in 2006 to a consortium including JP McManus, John Magnier, and Aidan Brooks. This group has maintained the property as a private residence and venue, preserving its historical character.
