This castle occupies a strategic position on a small rocky outcrop overlooking the right bank of the Mare stream, surrounded on two sides by the river, which provided natural defensive advantages. Although privately owned and not generally open to the public, Rousset Castle can be visited by appointment and is accessible during the European Heritage Days.
