The true rise of Przedbórz came under the reign of King Casimir III the Great, who in 1370 granted town rights to Przedbórz and commissioned the building of a stone castle to replace the earlier wooden fortifications.

The original stone castle complex consisted mainly of a residential house measuring approximately 13 by 31 meters and a quadrangular tower, which formed the core of the medieval fortress.
