Nif Castle

Nif Castle, locally known as Nif Kalesi or Hamalι Kalesi, is situated on a ridge overlooking the town of Kemalpaşa in the Izmir province of Turkey. The castle's location offers a commanding view of the surrounding landscape, a strategic advantage that has been recognized since antiquity. The castle's location near important trade and military routes ensured it retained relevance during Ottoman times, although it gradually fell into disuse as newer fortifications and changing political circumstances reduced its strategic value.

Today, Nif Castle stands as a ruin with limited structural remains. The site is freely accessible and is primarily used by local shepherds for grazing sheep.
