The new owners announced plans to redevelop the existing hotel and golf course into a luxury resort, indicating a shift towards commercial use while preserving the estate's heritage.

Following the sale, a 7-acre portion of land zoned for residential development near the castle gate was sold by Tetrarch to Glenveagh Homes for €14 million. Additionally, the castle's contents, including most of its historic furniture, were auctioned in 2021, along with a separate sale of books and letters, dispersing much of the castle's movable heritage.
