Tkviavi Castle is a historic fortress located in the village of Tkviavi within the Guria region of Georgia. This modest stronghold dates back to the 18th century and was constructed during the post-Renaissance period, primarily as a defensive measure against frequent incursions by the Leks, a collective term for Islamic highlanders from the Northern Caucasus. These raids were common in the 17th and 18th centuries, prompting local nobility to fortify their holdings.

The castle served as the seat of the Tamaz family from Kareli, who used it both as a residential and defensive stronghold. The region's turbulent history, marked by border conflicts and tribal raids, necessitated such fortifications.
