Ringsheim Castle is a significant high medieval fortress located in Euskirchen, Germany. Unusually, the castle stands isolated in open fields, positioned strategically between the boundary forest of Flamersheim and the historic crown road. The castle was originally enfeoffed by the Archbishopric of Cologne to the prominent landowning family of Ringsheim in the 13th century. However, financial difficulties led to the sale of the estate in 1455 to Johann Hurth von Schoeneck. The von Schoeneck family maintained possession until their line ended in 1615, at which point the castle reverted to the Archbishopric.

In 1635, control passed to Chief Constable Johann, Baron von Beck, who was enfeoffed with the estate. Subsequently, in 1656, his son sold the property to Philipp von der Vorst-Lombeck. After a protracted legal dispute, the castle was returned in 1713 to the heirs of the original von Schoeneck family, the Barons von Harff zu Dreiborn and Ringsheim. From then on, Ringsheim Castle remained under the ownership of the Barons von Dalwigk for approximately two centuries, before passing in 1900 to Wennemar von Schaffhausen.

Architectural layout and features
