In the 19th century, under the stewardship of Count Herman Hinnisdal who acquired the estate in 1831, Regnière-Écluse underwent a significant transformation. Inspired by the aristocratic residences of the Ancien Régime, Hinnisdal sought to create a family home that combined historical grandeur with modern functionality. He remodeled the old manor house in the popular troubadour gothic style, a form of neogothic architecture that romanticized medieval forms and details.

The landscape around the castle was extensively developed with English-style gardens and a large park featuring winding avenues and intersecting forest paths designed for hunting and forestry. This parkland covered approximately 1100 hectares at its peak, reflecting Hinnisdal's vision of a grand country estate. Additionally, he established the "Franc Picard" model farm in the nearby territory of Vron, an innovative agricultural enterprise for its time.

The castle today exhibits a blend of architectural elements shaped by centuries of adaptation. During World War I, the castle and its park were occupied by the English army, after which the estate was abandoned from 1918 until 1939. In World War II, the German army converted the castle into a hospital, a role it fulfilled until the war's end. Following the conflict, the estate served as a summer camp until 1962, when restoration efforts began to revive the property.

These restoration projects enabled the descendants of the Tyrel de Poix, Soyecourt, and Hinnisdal families to return and preserve their ancestral home.
