Poyrazköy Castle, located in the village of Poyrazköy on the Asian side of the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul Province, Turkey, is a historic fortress with origins dating back to the 15th century. Although detailed historical records are scarce, it is generally accepted that the castle was initially constructed by the Genoese during the late medieval period, a time when control over strategic maritime routes was critical for regional powers.

The castle’s primary role was to oversee and control the northern entrance to the Bosphorus from the Black Sea.
